The night was made only because of Them.
This moon filled up just for Them.
She closed her doors to be pampered and adorned
Lavishly, elegantly, bathed in butter,
Turmeric, sandalwood smoothed her skin,
Her Glory magnified a thousand folds
As Kumkum draped her simple form.
Dainty, beautiful, graceful, temple dancers
Expressed Her Grace to the impatient mortals
Drums pounded like they were Her anxious heart
Anxious to step out and meet Her love.
Oh! She steps out and how!!
Grandeur and simplicity come together
Her abode sparkles with an endless rain of lamps
The stars abandon the moon to twinkle in her hands.
The moon, intoxicated,... shimmering with a honeyed glow
Radiates love, brightly right outside her door
Mashaal-bearers, flag-bearers, trumpeters...
Drummers and swordsmen to slay whoever may come near.
Her obedient Bhairagini, gently fanning her.
lovingly looking at her...
She proceeds in a subliminal procession
Amidst moist eyes awaiting the Divine Union / Darshan
She stands tall in front of Him
Stirring every fancy and whim
Shaking every atom without and within
She returns, and the wait anon begins...
