Day 16 - 28/08/2014 - Kodari Trek Back We happily crossed the swingy rope bridge, the heights were high but so was our spirit!! And the Earth had literally moved when we got back to the trek after 9 days. Having made a connection with the path before, this time we were more comfortable walking. Swami Probodha was galloping with us and we became the leading team of trekkers.
Soon (3hrs) we reached the meeting point and enjoyed tea and snacks at the little dhaba (village diner) I also learnt that the clear plastic bags with water were hanging all around, keep the pesky flies away, and it was working! Soon Doctor Krishna and Natasha joined us. When things are left to the last, its because they are very important! We all felt very protected having Doc and Natasha with us. They silently, calmly and smilingly took care of medical needs for all of us and asked of our wellbeing at all times. Much love and gratitude to them.
We were all surprised when Swami ran and climbed the top of the bus joined by Devansh. Swami Prabodha, looked happier and elated that the yatra went well and he had finally let his hair down. :-)
Within minutes Padam, Urmi and I joined in.
Kathmandu after Showers
We emptied our duffle bags!! Showered and put on fresh clothes that were left behind in the suitcase in the hotel. Returned the down jackets and the duffles. After Guru Puja and meeting, I paid gratitude to Swami Prabodha and Isha Volunteers. Contact information was shared on a sheet being passed around the dining area. Whatsapp groups got made.
The time of the pictures below is 10:10 and 10:11pm But here's the deal, 10 years later when i sat to put this all together I realised that the iPhone images have a different time from the digital camera images, approx 2.27hrs. I could not set it to either India/Nepal/China timezone. We don't know what time it was or it ever is! Specially in the Higher Planes, some images say 8:00pm and the sun is shining (like it does in Europe in the summer) but i don't remember whether it was like that.
It's taken me 10 days, assimilating the journey in a deeper way while organising the images chronologically. It felt like I was back in the spots that i was now re-viewing.
Time did not matter, only the cycle of the sun mattered to see us through our single pointed focus on reaching the destination. Time spent together through excitement, frustration, anxiety, disappointment but specially happiness created a greater bond. And today we can fly back to the time we shared sitting comfortably in our chairs.
Time has sped up and wizzed by since then. Sadhguru's promised ride on the spiritual rollercoaster has taken us all over the place, but we have been hanging strong not just to our Guru but each other as well.
It was because earlier this month, Mehek reached out in our group that she had lost her pictures so I went back into my folders and the desire to create a documented version of the Kailash Yatra came back. Plus there was no way I could have emailed her all these images. Thank you Mehek!
And I sincerely thank the A1 group (Isha_Kailash_Group) for making this blog so special by reading it and re-connecting the energies amongst us.
Day 17 29/08/2014 Flying away
A last look at the beautiful country of Nepal, definitely to be visited again.
Deep gratitude to Isha Brahmacharis, Isha Sacred Walks, Isha Volunteers and most of all Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudeva!
